Year 1 - Phonics screening test
All children are tested for their phonics knowledge at the end of Year 1. The pass make is usually 32 out of 40.
Year 2 - End of Key Stage 1 SATs
All children are tested on their Reading, Writing, Grammar and Spelling as well as their their Mathematics knowledge and understanding.
These tests are during May and involve answering a series of questions. The Writing assessment element is moderated separately.
